And here it is, the beginning of the RX-78-2 Evolve 15 Gundam Custom Kit from Liam Studios.

I'm really anxious to get this kit in full swing, everything is washed and de-warped, cleaned of all the flash and ready to be based.

The inner frame called for the MG RX-78-2 O.Y.W. Edition which was super cheap in itself, and the kit is pretty intricate on its own.  The legs were one complete part that is folded and snapped over itself to make the whole pneumatic and joint system from hip to ankle.  Pretty cool.

One real big difference that you'll notice is the beam rifle, its more of a beam SMG which looks mean as all hell.

The scopes are a real neat attribute to the weapon, and I like the detailing on it a lot.  All the exhausts and canisters, real cool.

The head above is real different as well, elongated sensor housing, the sides are completely different as is the back of its head.  Not too much difference in the face, the armor on the sides of the cheek are drawn out pretty far which makes it look pretty mean, and the antenna is completely different, looks a lot cleaner.

The chest is very much different, as is the back unit, they're molded with immense detail and additional sensors/panels.  The finished product will be a huge improvement on the O.G. Gundam, a real homage to the first model.

As you can see, not nearly done with detailing or highlighting, just a demo of the pieces, I've decided to do gloss reds, metallic blues, silver accents and a flat white cover with the infamous yellow pieces being a deep camel yellow.

I'll have some more pics up here soon and progress will be made this weekend so check back!  This kit's definitely one to buy if you have the cash to shell out for both the conversion kit and the MG.  About 210 for the two together.

There's a Method to My Madness

Yes, yes... Messy, but there's a method to my madness.

So, I've been meaning to really showcase my work, BUT, not too much time for it.  But I took a few for a friend who's shown some interest in my habit lol.

Let's see, I've got my arctic Gundam Exia "From Gundam 00: SE 1".  If you'd like to see the original colors go google it, too lazy to grab a hires one.  Consists of a base gray violet, overlay of mica blue and silver leaf mixture for the top cote for the nice metalic blue.  Flat aluminum airbrushing for the silver pieces, and a thin overlay of pearl white on the whiter pieces.  As always, my custom technique of titan silver chrome base, water down clear green on top, then clear coting for the "green camera/sensor" effect was used.

Vioala-

Okay, next up I've got a few closes of the infamous MSN-06S Sinanju the "Red Comet"
This is my favorite kit..  So I painted it a mixture of titan gold chrome underlay "well, a flat black base, then the chrome" and on top of that watered down ruby red "to allow the chrome some spotlight too, and make for a great effect."  Yes, all of the gold emblems are hand painted, and i didnt like how the gold out shined the red on this kit, even through the red trumps the gold in real-estate, the eye just caught the gold, so i made it rustic by washing thin watered down jet black.  accents in silver leaf, etc etc, pearl white on the white tanks and thrusters, black was flat jet black, again, as not to diminish the ruby red.

Here you are-

And I did one addition to the Gray Wolf, the machine cannon shield.  Not too big of a deal but you can see it above.

Anyhow, I've just got the Zeta 2.0 MG base frame for my Strike White Zeta conversion today, I'm washing the pieces to that now, they're soaking in soapwater.

That's AFTER my RX-78-2 Evolve 15 Version is done, which my next post will be over.  Some nice pics there...

Also to come after the RX and Strike White, the Evolve 9 Nu.  I got this kit before I knew anything about resin and custom kits "other than forge world resin for 40k, bad times... but it taught me a lot" so it's sat in a bag for ... a year now.  the last of its kind, the Vicious Project Evolve Nu gundam... I am soaking those now, also.. and im going to clean them after I'm finished with the above two projects.  I can handle the poor quality resin now where it's bad.

Okay, so its 4 A.M.... Not tired, Formation in the morning for the Columbus Day 72... Im going to continue watching Silent Hill, and work on some gunpla..  Stay tuned.

AHHH!  Pyramid head!!!
